Fueling Hope

Experiencing, Sharing, and Fueling Hope: A Journey Through Faith

Welcome to our blog! Today, we’re diving into the final week of our inspiring series on being "Hope Carriers." Over the past few weeks, we've explored how to experience, share, and fuel hope in our lives and communities. If you missed the previous messages, you can catch up online. Let's delve into the essence of today's message and discover how we can fuel hope through generosity.

Experiencing Hope: The Foundation

What is True Hope?

True hope is found in Jesus. Worldly hope often disappoints, but hope in Jesus is steadfast and secure. As we learned in week one, "Hope has a name, and its name is Jesus." This foundational truth reminds us that any hope not rooted in Jesus will ultimately prove to be hopeless.

Sharing Hope: Our Calling

How Can We Share Hope?

God transforms the hopeless into hope carriers. We were all born in sin, but through Jesus, we are made alive and filled with hope. This hope is not meant to be kept to ourselves but shared with the world. As we overflow with hope, we naturally share it with those around us.

A Story of Sharing Hope

Antonio Patey, our associate student director, exemplifies this. While on vacation, he invited a waiter to church, leading to the waiter and his girlfriend attending a service and the waiter accepting Jesus as his Savior. This simple act of sharing hope had a profound impact.

Fueling Hope: Generosity in Action

Why is Generosity Important?

Generosity fuels the mission of carrying hope. In 2 Corinthians 9:6-11, Paul explains that God provides the seed and the harvest. When we give generously, we fuel the mission of spreading hope. God loves a cheerful giver, and our generosity enables us to meet needs and spread the good news.

Practical Examples of Generosity

Our Do Good ministry thrives on generosity. From local partnerships with organizations like Family Promise and Second Mile to global missions in India and Peru, your generosity makes a difference. For instance, through our partnership with FAM, over 110,000 people in South Asia have been baptized since 2009.

Life Application

How Can You Apply This Message?

Generosity is not just about financial giving; it’s about giving your time, talents, and resources. This week, challenge yourself to be a cheerful giver. Reflect on how you can use what God has given you to bring hope to others.

Questions to Reflect On

  1. How can you experience more of Jesus' hope in your daily life?
  2. In what ways can you share hope with those around you?
  3. What resources (time, talents, finances) can you use to fuel hope in your community and beyond?

Conclusion

As we wrap up this series, remember that we are called to be hope carriers. Your generosity fuels the mission of spreading hope, both locally and globally. Pray about how you can contribute to our Do Good ministry and make a lasting impact. Together, we can bring the hope of Jesus to a world that desperately needs it.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Let's continue to experience, share, and fuel hope in every aspect of our lives.
